Just add another one in your platter, Telltale! It’s not like you got a dozen other projects…

-As if they got nothing else to think of anymore, Telltale Games has just announced that they are collaborating with Mojang Studios to create an episodic and narrative-driven Minecraft game.

Nope, sorry. This isn’t a joke…

-Minecraft: Story Mode sounds to be exactly what you expect from your average Telltale game. It’s an adventure game featuring an original story and driven entirely by the illusion of player choice, but this time, it is set in the blocky world of Minecraft. The series will soon be available on Xbox, Playstation, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and your kitchen toaster. It will, according to Telltale, “mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience.”

-Mojang, then said “We’re not intending on creating an ‘official’ story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.” The first episode of the upcoming series will soon be coming to you ‘sometime in 2015’, according to Mojang.

-What I think about this? Meh… I’m not really a fan of their games, especially after Walking Dead Season 2. But unless you love forced plot developments, last minute retcons, holes in the plotlines as far as your beautiful eyes can see, characters that are inconsistent and unpredictable as is your interactions with them, and last but not least, the wonderful illusion that your ‘narrative-driven’ story is actually tailored to the choices you make, then go ahead, this game is for you, random reader!

-I swear, Telltale is slowly turning more and more into David Cage, but at least they’re not as terribly pretentious and deluded. So they got that going for them, which is nice…
